Sungrow Positive Energy Public Welfare Initiative | A Smart Classroom, a "New Scene" in Caoxian

2026-06-26

"Previously, we had to borrow venues for research classes. Now, with the Sungrow Smart Classroom, we no longer need to travel, and our students can access top teachers online – truly closing the resource gap in rural education."This was said by Li Xin, principal of Liuheji Primary School in Sunlaojia Town, Caoxian County, Shandong Province. The classroom he refers to is the school's first professional smart classroom, recently completed and put into use. It is also an important milestone for the Sungrow Positive Energy Public Welfare Initiative, jointly launched by Sungrow Renewables and the China Social Welfare Foundation, in Shandong.

On June 24, the Sungrow Smart Classroom welcomed its first renewable energy science class after opening.

Caoxian County is a major county for renewable energy generation. Wind turbines turning gently across the fields and photovoltaic power plants shining under the sun are familiar sights for local children.

“How does a photovoltaic power plant convert sunlight into electricity?”

“When a wind turbine starts turning, does it begin generating power immediately?”

During the class, children eagerly raised their hands to ask questions, revealing their pure curiosity and enthusiasm for knowledge.

A rural primary school witnesses the transformation of local education.

Founded in the 1950s, Liuheji Primary School had long relied on borrowed facilities to continue providing education. In 2016, the school was rebuilt according to provincial standards, with brand-new campus facilities. However, the development of rural education still faced challenges in terms of educational resources and capabilities.

In Li Xin’s view, the shortage of high-quality teachers, difficulties in bringing advanced curriculum resources to rural areas, and the information gap between urban and rural education have always been major challenges for rural education.

The newly completed Sungrow Smart Classroom provides a targeted solution to these challenges. Through livestreaming, recording, remote interaction, and teaching support systems, it breaks down geographical barriers between urban and rural areas, bringing high-quality courses from leading teachers and broader perspectives directly into rural classrooms.

Li Xin commented: “This smart classroom is a bridge. One end connects the countryside, and the other connects the world. What we lacked before was exactly this bridge.”

Beyond serving as a teaching space, this high-standard smart classroom also functions as a regional public teaching and research hub. In the future, it will host large-scale open classes, teaching demonstrations, and research activities for the surrounding school district and regional education alliances. It has also been incorporated into the remote teaching and research network of the Caoxian County Education Research Office.

Through real-time remote learning, premium course recording, and resource sharing, the classroom has evolved from serving a single school into empowering balanced educational development across the entire region. It has become a new cornerstone for the sharing and connection of rural education resources.
